Barranca V Vos , (formerly Barbara ,BV ) she/they, grew-up in Brooklyn and moved to The San Francisco Bay Area in 1977. She is from a family of artists and primarily self-educated. Her resume includes a 1996 NEA Grant and a 1993 Djerassi Artist Residency. Her work is part of The di Rosa Preserve, Permanent Collection. Her group showings include Sonoma State University, Mills College Art Gallery, Bedford Gallery. She was represented for many years by Brian Gross Fine Art, San Francisco. She has had a healing touch & craniosacral practice in San Francisco since 1997, and paints at her art studio in the Noonan Building on Pier 70 m.415-336-8471
Working with Acrylics
Acrylic paint on canvas, Birch is named for the beautiful & dramatic trees.
I experimented with acrylics when I needed a break from oil paints, working in my Prague Street, San Francisco living room at the time. A metal recycling company that had moved in next door to my studio kept me away for a year.
